Three 8vo (193x120 mm), vol. 1: (2)-x-633 pages et 1 portrait / vol. 2: (4)-536 pages / vol. 3: (4)-428 pages. binding : Contemporary full sprinkled calf, spine gilt in six compartments, title and volume number in gilt on lettering-pieces, marbled edges. Four corners and one cap slightly chipped. A waterstain and one minor worm's work on covers of volume 2. Very fresh copy.

Claude Pouteau (1724-1775) was a surgeon who practiced at the Hôtel-Dieu in Lyon.
He brings many observations on cancer and he is the first to describe the fracture of the lower end of the radius with posterior tilt published several decades before the description given by Abraham Colles, called the Pouteau-Colles fracture in France (and only Colles fracture outside France).
